Anuna Choir Workshop

Senior Choir were delighted to welcome Lucy Champion, education co-ordinator, and her team from Ireland's national choir Anuna to Wesley this week. Anuna has an international profile and reputation unlike any other Irish choir and their 30 years of success is testament to this. Their schedule of touring performances and workshop commitments regular brings them to Europe, America, Japan and further afield but they managed to squeeze in a visit to Ballinteer on a very cold November evening to put the group through their paces. Anuna's distinctive sound, performance practice and unique repertoire were all on the menu and the evening flew by in a very enjoyable blur of breathing, vowel sounds, listening and learning. At the end of our 90 minute session, Michael McGlynn's beautiful arrangement of Gaudete was under our belts with ease and confidence. A great evening's work from everyone!
