Sports Update

HOCKEY

Congratulations to the Senior second XI boys who beat St. Columbus first XI 3-2 to win the Leinster Senior B league. Goals came from Cameron Ruttle, Gavin Quill and Daniel Ellison. A fantastic end to their season, well done to captain Óran Grehan and his team and all the coaching staff. 

The Prep boys team also won their Leinster league. They beat St Patrick's Greystones in the final on Monday 2-0, with both goals from Daniel Forkin.The whole team contributed well, led by their captain Peter Walker. Many congratulations to him and his team for their successful season.  


The U-14 A boys continued their two year unbeaten streak on Wednesday in the All Ireland competition in Lisnagarvey Hockey Club. They drew the first game 0-0 to a determined Kilkenny side. They went on and won all four of their other matches against Ashton College, Sullivan Upper, Bandon Grammar School and Friends School. They scored a total of eleven goals which were shared around between Tom Power, Adam Walker, Adam Galbraith, Ben Cullen, Craig Mackay and Oliver Davy and they did not concede a goal throughout. Their hard work, talent and determined attitude ensured they brought home the All Ireland Trophy to add to their league and cup success. Many congratulations to the team and coaching staff for an outstanding season and for representing the college.  Images from the final are available here.

The U-13 A and Junior A boy teams both travelled with the U-14 A team to play in a friendly against Friends. The U-13's won their match 8-0 which the Junior A team put up a good fight and played some excellent hockey but unfortunately they lost 4-2.  

 

RUGBY 

Hard luck to the TY XV who lost the final of their league against CUS 38-10 away in Newbridge College on Wednesday. Well done to the sevens team who won their tournament yesterday. Images from the final are available here.
