TENNIS

The Junior B and Minor B boys battled it out earlier this week against Marion College and the High School respectively, unfortunately loosing 5-0. The Junior boys were back in action on Wednesday against St. Conleth’s winning four of the five matches in straight sets. The Junior A boys lost 5-0 to a strong Naas side while the Minor A’s beat Gonzaga 3-2. Josh Campion, Eoin McNeill and Adam McNallagh winning each of their singles matches in straight sets.
Commiserations to both Senior A and B girls who were both defeated yesterday 3-0 and 2-1 respectively, the B’s played St. Conleths. The A’s were up against an evenly matched Loreto on the Green side, although the score doesn’t suggest it, the girls put up a very good fight with some impressive tennis played.
Good luck to the Senior A boys who are through to the semi-final of their league.

CRICKET

The Junior boys beat CUS by 10 wickets with Craig Mackay scoring 35 not out. The Senior 2nd lost by 6 wickets to St. Andrews. Well done to Sam Darley who scored 24 runs and took two wickets. They also played on Wednesday against Terenure, loosing by 8 runs. This time James Desigal was highlighted for scoring 21 runs and taking 2 wickets. The Seinor 1st beat St. Columbas by 9 wickets. Well done to Max Collins and Ross Henderson who took 3 wickets each. 1st year A boys also won their match against King’s Hospital by 3 runs.
A couple of the girls teams were also in action this weeks. The 1st year C team lost to Racthdown by 17 runs. Rathdown’s Junior A team reached an impressive 163 in their 20 overs. Our C’s battled out the full 20 overs but were a little bit short. The Senior 2nd were also beaten after Rathdown 1st chased them down with 2 wickets to spare. Congratulations to the Junior A’s who beat Loreto on the Green to secure their place in the semi-finals against the High School. Good luck also to the Senior 1st who are through to their semi-final against the High School following a walkover against Loreto Balbriggan.
