Congratulations to the U-14 A boys who won the Leinster U-14 Cup on Wednesday in miserable conditions against a determined Kilkenny College side. An early goal from Ben Cullen settled nerves and a second half goal from Gavin Herlihy sealed the win. The team have completed the double of the league and cup for the second year in a row. We wish them all the best as they go on to represent the school in the U14 All Ireland competition on the 5th April. Photos from the final are available here.
Our heartfelt commiserations to the Senior first XI boys who were defeated by St Andrews on Wednesday in the Leinster Senior Hockey Cup final. It was an intense game throughout with Wesley taking the lead early on from a back post tap it by Andrew Sykes a crossed from Mark Samuel. This was followed quickly by a goal to St Andrews. Wesley worked hard to take the lead again 15 minutes into the second half. The goal came again from a short corner, but this time it was deflected in from Mark Samuel’s drag flick. Wesley were looking strong, and played with every ounce of skill they had. Unfortunately, two calls didn’t go our way, which led to a disallowed goal for us and a penalty stroke for St Andrews which they converted. This brought the game all tied at full time and after a scoreless extra time, Wesley found itself, yet again, in penalty strokes, losing 6-5 in sudden death. Well done to the team and all the coaching staff, you did the college proud. Photos from the final are available here.
The first year A girls took on Alexandra College on Thursday morning in their cup final. They dominated the game, but Alex made the most of a counter attack in the first half, scoring the only goal of the match. Despite having all their peers cheering them on from the side-line, Wesley just could not convert. Commiserations to the team and coaching staff but we look forward to what the team have to offer over the coming years. Photos from the final are available here.

Many congratulations to Campbell Classon who was selected for the Ulster U-19’s match against Japan U-19 on Wednesday night.

Hard luck to the Senior 3rds who were beaten in the semi final of the league on Thursday evening. They came up against a tough St Michael's College side and unfortunately we didn't make it to the league decider. There is plenty of talent coming through the side for next season and we were led admirably by three 6th years who gave their al as usual. Thanks to Jeff McKay, Luke Ennis and Michael Mullins for their service over the years. Photos from the match are available here.
