Sports Update
TENNIS
The short tennis season is now in full swing. On Tuesday the Junior B boys travelled up to Dundalk who proved to be a tough opposition. Unfortunately they lost 4 – 1. The Junior A boys hosted Sandford Park in Wesley to which they lost 3 – 2. The Junior B girls took on St Killians, with the deciding match going into a tie break. Sara Rice and Katlyn Tennant came out triumphant, with the overall team winning 2 - 1.
The Junior A boys were back in action on Wednesday but just missed out 3 – 2 to a victorious Kilkenny side. The Minor B boys played St Killians, who proved to be an extremely strong side and held us out with an overall score of 4 – 1. The Junior A girls team travelled to play Loreto Balbriggan. Abby O'Sullivan and Rachel Sutton won their match in straight sets and it came down to a tie breaker for the decider with Charlotte Stapleton and Alex Esmond just missing out 7 – 10. The overall team score was 2 – 1. The Minor B girls played High School claiming a strong first win of the season 3 – 0. Well done to all the teams that went out over the past two days.
CRICKET
The Senior 1st boys started the week with a friendly against St Andrews and the U14 A boys played against CUS, unfortunately both recording a loss. This set the Seniors up for their league match on Wednesday against King's Hospital which they won by 5 wickets with Sivan Mangat scoring 44 and Daniel Ivers scoring 37 not out. Well done to all the team.
The Senior 2nd and U14 B boys were also in action yesterday in their respective leagues. The Senior team lost by 7 wickets to Ardgillan, while the U14 boys beat Wilsons hospital by 73 runs with Chris Bailey scoring 37 not out.
Congratulations to the U13 B girls who beat Mount Anville by 11 runs on Tuesday. The win was ensured by strong bowling from Alana Bowers and batting from Ella Power. A great start for their league. The Senior 2nd girls lost their opening match to King's Hospital 1st on Wednesday. Well done to a number of the team who played their first ever game of cricket.

Huge congratulations to Leah Paul in 5th year who gained her first international cap for the Irish women's cricket team.
