Student Enterprise Award

Attention all budding business students!!!

The Student Enterprise Award is a competition that offers students the opportunity to take a business from the idea stage through market research to production, selling the product, record keeping, management and writing a report on their activities.

Participation in the competition will encourage students to consider becoming entrepreneurs in the future. It will prepare them for a business future and give them invaluable experience in the business world.  The experience of running a business brings many benefits to students; it enhances creativity, improves communication skills and provides opportunities for students to use their initiative and work as a team etc.

Successful students may go on to compete in the County and National Finals.

The Business Innovation Award

Learn what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur

The Business Innovation Award is an exciting opportunity for 5^th and 6^th year students. It is a practical way to learn the ins and outs of running a business and what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Partaking in the Business Innovation Award will be of great benefit to all students, studying  Business, Economics and Accounting.

Each student must create a detailed business plan of their idea for a new product or service.  The business plan analyses how the student will produce and sell the product or service.  Students must then present their idea to an external business person and will be questioned in depth about their idea under such headings as finance, marketing and production. The winner will receive a plaque and a cash prize.
