Wesley College is proud of its outstanding and inclusive Music Department.

Music for All:

As well as offering Music as a Junior and Leaving Certificate option subject, Wesley College also provides a broad arts based music and musicianship programme to all students in Form One. The Transition Year programme offers three musical options and all Form Five and Form Six students are offered Choir as a curriculum option.

Choral Music and Performance:

We have five choirs from our award winning Senior Choir and Chamber Choir to Boys’ Choir, Junior Choral Group and Prep Choir. All are conducted by choral specialists and each participates in concerts, worship and competitions regularly.

Orchestral and Instrumental Music:

The main orchestra in Wesley is available to all acoustic instrumentalists who can read music. A chamber orchestra is available to outstanding students as well as to music scholars. An instrumental tuition programme is taught at the college in a purpose built music centre with 8 music studio rooms and a staff of 15 dedicated peripatetic music teachers.

Facilities:

Our Music and Arts Building is home to many musical activities and events. An auditorium, 2 music classrooms as well as music teaching studios and a music technology lab are just some of the facilities available to our students. A wide variety of instruments are available which include a number of pianos, a pipe organ, drum kits, guitars and some woodwind, brass and string instruments. We are also lucky to have two full-time and three part-time classroom music teachers.
