Boarding at Wesley

Boarding at Wesley College is a unique experience

Living in the heart of one of Ireland’s premier schools, Wesley boarding pupils have access to an exceptional range of academic subject options and to unrivalled home-from-home accommodation and personal support.

Boarders at Wesley live in two or three bedroom units with access to all of the facilities on our 25-hectare campus.  An exceptional extra-curricular programme provides a healthy balance to academic classes.  And with 25 members of staff living on-site, our personal support for our boarder pupils is unique.

Our aim is to provide a home for boarders, right in the heart of our school, allowing pupils to belong to a vibrant Wesley community.

Academic Standards

Wesley College is one of Ireland’s premier schools offering a subject range unmatched in Ireland.  For high academic standards in a friendly but focused environment, Wesley College is an obvious choice.

Extra-curricular Opportunity

The Wesley Extra-Curricular Programme provides boarders with activity both before school and after classes end at 4pm.  We believe that exercise and alternatives to academic work provide the right balance for young people, to give an all-round education that is vital in today’s world.  Sports, Drama, Music, Debating, Model United Nations are just some of the activities we encourage.  The full programme can be seen here.

Personal Support

In Wesley, there is exceptional adult and peer support.  Limited to a maximum of 120 boarders, we aim to provide a personal and friendly home environment.  In addition to nursing care, and the care from our Heads of Houses, we provide Chaplain and Guidance support for all our students.

Our Houses

Our boarders sleep in three or four bed units and have access to wi-fi, kitchen and social areas.  Study each evening is supervised in small groups, guaranteeing the best academic standards.  Please see our boarding timetable here.

Boarding Options

Wesley College offers 7 and 5-Day Boarding options.  Students are welcome to stay at weekends to study and to experience additional fun and cultural activity.  At Wesley, we understand that ‘down time’ is vital in this busy world.

Discover a Unique Experience

Boarders in Wesley College strive for academic excellence and in the process discover a community where learning, as well as personal growth, continues long after the school day has ended. Friendships flourish and life is treasured by our alumni for many years to come.

The majority of boarders in Wesley College are Irish with some 5 day students from nearby counties. Our students arrive at University prepared and equipped for autonomous study, able to demonstrate life skills that come from living and learning with their peers.
