German debating has been a national competition organised by the Goethe Institut. In the past two years, this competition has not taken place but Wesley College has organised several debates against local German school St. Kilian's Deutsche Schule.

Some of the topics debated have included banning plastic packaging, getting rid of animal testing and the importance of learning languages in school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for senior students to improve their oral language skills as well as learning to really think on their feet. It is challenging at times but it is wonderfully.
