Saturday 10th May 2019
A great night was had at the weekend at the Wesley College Parents BBQ, hosted by the PTA at Old Wesley Rugby Club. Over 150 people attended and devoured a delicious feast of summer food. It was a lovely relaxed social evening with a great buzz. This may well become an annual event!
READY STEADY COOK
Friday 9th March 2019
Overends Cafe, Airfield
A memorable afternoon was had in early March when 18 students showed off their baking skills. They had 1½ hours to create a dessert using a recipe from a female influence - friend, family member or celebrity chef. The theme was chosen to coincide with International Women's Day and there were all types of recipes, ranging from Mary Berry and all three Allens - Myrtle, Darina and Rachel - to recipes handed down from great grandmothers and female bloggers!
1st prize was awarded to Lisa-Marie Kasselman for her Marbled Meringue Roulade with Lemon Curd (pictured below)
2nd prize went to Emma Ruttle for a Trio of Allen Women Desserts
3rd prize was awarded to Zoe Mulligan for her Toblerone Cheesecake
Three highly commended prizes went to:
- Glory Daniel Ochonma - Sweet Surprise
- Katelyn Tennant - The Passionate Cake
- Anna Forbes - Apple and Cinnamon Bundt Cake
Y1 COFFEE MORNING TAKE 2

Y3 COFFEE MORNING
Friday 8th February 2019
Overends Cafe, Airfield
We’ve repeated a successful formula started last year with over fifty Year 3 parents getting together for the first time in 2019 over coffee and home-made scones in Airfield.
Despite a wild wintery morning the sun started to shine as people arrived and it turned out to be a lovely and relaxing morning.
We think we’ve found a successful formula that we may well roll out to other classes in the future, so keep an eye out and watch this space!

TRANSITION YEAR PARENTS' COFFEE MORNING
Friday 5th October 2018
Parents of 4th years had a relaxed Friday morning in Airfield over coffee and scones, on the 5th October. It was a new initiative this year and proved a great success.
Given the TY shake up of classes and moving pupils around for TY the PTA felt it would be useful for parents to meet each other again, to renew old acquaintances and get to know some new faces too.
Some were enjoying it so much they looked like they wanted to stay on in Airfield for lunch! This is definitely an event that will be considered as aa regualr event by the PTA in the future.

FIRST YEAR AND PREPS COFFEE MORNING
Saturday 15th September 2018
The 15th September saw a great turnout matched by a great buzz of parents of pupils coming in to 1st year or Prep class, for our annual coffee morning in the Blackmore Pavillion, overlooking the hockey pitches.
The annual event gives parents and guardians a chance to meet parents and guardians of students in the same class as thier own child in an informal setting over a cup of tea or coffee.
It was a great success on a beautiful morning and with a great atmosphere as parents set about getting to know eachother, most for the very first time!
