Climate Action Day
On Friday 10th December, Green Schools held a Climate Action Day across the school.
Students and Staff were encouraged to get involved by walking or cycling to school, competing in climate action games around the campus, and enjoying a low emissions lunch in the canteen!
Students and staff enjoyed learning more about climate change by playing the climate action games at lunchtime on the day, where each game was made from upcycled materials.
The canteen provided a meat-free lunch, which lowered the methane emissions usually produced from the use of meat each lunchtime.
Finally, as part of Climate Action Day, Green Schools launched an eco-anxiety e-booklet. Eco-anxiety involves feeling overwhelmed or fearful about climate change and the future of the planet. The booklet contains practical tips to help students cope with these feelings.
