Sligo International Choral Festival
Senior Choir competed in the Sligo International Choral Festival last Friday, making this their third trip to these competitions. We were absolutely delighted once again, to be warmly welcomed by principal of St John's National School, Mr Bernard Mulhern, by now a familiar face to the choir! The Sligo primary school provided a wonderful rehearsal space for choir members to eat lunch, stretch legs after a long bus journey and warm-up their voices. The group gave assured performances of their four chosen pieces in two classes for secondary schools, with a particularly moving rendition of Ballade to the Moon to finish their day's work in Sligo. Wesley can be sure that the Senior Choir represented the College proudly and both adjudicators found much to enjoy and commend in their performances. The choir members returned to Wesley after a very positive day in the West with the all-important stop in McDonalds for dinner and well-earned ice-creams en route!
