The Importance of Being Earnest

Wesley College Senior Drama Club are delighted to present Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, Thursday 9th March at 7:30pm in the Myles Hall. Wilde's farcical comedy is one of the best-known Irish plays, and combines outrageous situations with Wilde's searing wit to produce a must-see, hilarious, play. Two bachelors, Jack/Earnest Worthing (Brian Whelan) and Algernon Moncrieff (Matthew Harris) find themselves trapped in their own web of lies in pursuit of two women, Cecily Cardew (Úna Nolan) and Gwendolyn Fairfax (Emma Mooney). Not helped by the interference of Lady Bracknell (Caitríona Maguire), the pair travel from town to country in pursuit of love, and the truth. Tickets are €5 and on sale at lunch time each day, and limited availability on the door on the night. "The truth is rarely pure, and never simple".
