Sports Update

Wednesday saw the long awaited and very happy return to hockey fixtures for Wesley College for both girls and boys.

Our Prep and 1st Year girls, just under 60 in total, took to the pitches for games for their first ever experience of matches representing Wesley. The girls from both Wesley and Kilkenny College came with an abundance of enthusiasm and energy. Wesley had more numbers than Kilkenny so we played a number of different games both against Kilkenny and some internal matches to give the Kilkenny girls a break. Wesley were the winners of all of the challenge matches and showed some great skill and determination.

The Junior girls were also in action against Kilkenny College. All 4 teams had encouraging wins, with only one goal conceded throughout. The A’s won their match 2-0.

The B’s won 3-0, C’s 7-1 and D’s 1-0. All teams showed some great skills, and worked well together and we look forward to their next matches soon.

The U-14 A and B boys were away to The King’s Hospital in friendlies, winning 5-0 and 3-1 respectively. While the Senior 2nd boys drew 2-2 against Sandford Park.

A wonderful start back to external matches, with many more to come.
